Wise Living in a Wild World - Warnings from Proverbs for Christian Living - Wed. Service

Roadblocks to our Spiritual Lives: Intentional Ignorance, Foolish Friendships, Lethargic Living. Worthless Words, Godless Goals, Sexual Seduction, Faults and Failures Warning 1: Intentional Ignorance Ignorance is defined as “lack of knowledge, education, or awareness.” Ignorance is a natural result of being finite creatures. It is not a sin in and of itself. We are not and never will be omniscient. There are always going to be things we do not know or of which we are unaware. Can you think of an example when you faced consequences for ignorance about something? However, ignorance is not always acceptable. In His Word, God has placed principles, concepts, and even laws to help us live our lives with godly wisdom. Learning these Biblical principles is a process. Biblical wisdom is developed, and it does not happen accidentally. The book of Proverbs teaches us that one roadblock to wise living is intentional ignorance. God has given us divine wisdom in His Word, and to ignore it is an intentional choice for which you are accountable to God. As we begin our study, let’s consider wisdom from the perspective of Proverbs. Are you pursuing godly wisdom or intentionally ignorant?
