Galatians 6:9-18 – Don’t Stop Boasting in the Cross - Wednesday Evening Prayer Meeting

Paul wrote to the Galatians to convince them that Jesus alone is sufficient for salvation and sanctification. This church had been confronted by false teaching Judaizers trying to convince them to add Jewish law to the grace of Christ. Paul declared that salvation brings liberty and not bondage to works. That liberty, however, was not to be used for selfish pleasure but to serve God by serving others in love (5:13-14). When someone in Christ walks in the Spirit, their life produces spiritual fruit. (5:16-26). When someone is in Christ, they should not be weary in doing good, but continuing to do good at every opportunity (6:7-10). In 6:11-18, Paul establishes a motivation for all of it, Jesus Christ. We should never stop boasting in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Scripture References: Galatians 5:16-26, 1 Corinthians 6:19, Galatians 5:13-14, John 6:38, Philippians 2:5-8, Galatians 3:3, Galatians 6:9-18, Galatians 5:24, Philippians 3:4-6, Galatians 2:16-10, Galatians 6:7-10, John 15:5
