The Teaching of Jesus- Lesson 29– The King Told People of the Kingdom - Wed Prayer Meeting 5-19-2021

Author and End: The Gospel Throughout the Bible

Jesus ministered publicly on this earth for just over three years. While He served His Father in this public capacity, He became known for many things. As we studied last week, much of the fame that built around Christ was because of His miracles. However, Jesus did much more while on this earth than heal people. We know that He came to die and be sacrificed for sinners. We know that He came to seek and to save the lost. We know that Jesus came to be the Savior of the world, but how do we know this? It is what He taught us. John referred to Jesus coming to earth as the Word of God sent to mankind. While Jesus’ actions amazed, His words taught. Those who were around Jesus quickly realized His divine wisdom and His willingness to share the God’s plan for the world. Jesus was addressed by a title more than 90 times by people in the Gospels. More than 60 of those times He was referred to as a teacher (a Rabbi, a mentor, or a master). So, how did Jesus teach? What did He teach? How must we continue to learn from His teaching today? summary

Scripture References: Mark 8:29, Luke 11:1-54, Matthew 10:40, Matthew 16:15, Mark 1:15, Matthew 7:17, Matthew 16:13, Matthew 13:44, Mark 4:22, John 5:6, Matthew 26:52, Mark 1:34-38, Mark 10:51, Luke 10:1-42, Mark 1:9-15, Mark 11:1-33, Matthew 23:24, Luke 9:20, Matthew 5:1-48, Mark 2:27

From Series: "Author and End: The Gospel Throughout the Bible"

"Author & End" will follow the Gospel throughout the entire Bible, and we will discover that Jesus Christ is the Author and Finisher of our faith. In lesson 1 of our series, we see that the "ends of the Gospel" have been the purpose of God from the very beginning.
