Lesson 26 – God Comes to Mary… and mankind! - Midweek Prayer Service - 4-28-2021

For months, we have been tracing the gloriously, grace-filled plan of God for mankind. From mankind’s creation, the design was for God to be with them. Man is only satisfied and complete in God or more specifically, in true relation and communion with Him. Adam and Eve had it, and then they lost it. Their descendants have been born lost ever since. However, we have seen repeatedly that God has not changed or abandoned His plan. Communion and relation is still the only answer for mankind’s soul, but there is no human that can obtain this on their own. The Old Testament tells us that the greatest of men are still sinners and that even the best efforts of a multitude of people still fail. The Old Testament plainly reveals people need a Savior. After hundreds of promises and centuries of patience, the Savior comes. The Christ, the Messiah, Immanuel is revealed, and echoing the splendor of the Garden of Eden, God is with us again! As we examine the coming of Jesus, we will draw attention to the nature of His birth but also focus on the world into which he entered. We will take a look at Mary and emphasize that while she was special, she was also representative of all people waiting for a Savior.

Scripture References: Luke 1:26-38, Luke 1:1-80, Matthew 1:1-25

From Series: "Author and End: The Gospel Throughout the Bible"

"Author & End" will follow the Gospel throughout the entire Bible, and we will discover that Jesus Christ is the Author and Finisher of our faith. In lesson 1 of our series, we see that the "ends of the Gospel" have been the purpose of God from the very beginning.
