Spirit vs. Flesh - Galatians 5:13-6:10 - Wed. Evening Prayer Mtg.

Study: 5:13-18 – Spirit vs. Flesh - Our relationship with God will affect our relationship with others. Your spiritual walk will not remain internal. It must eventually flow outward toward other people! 5:19-21 – Works of the Flesh - A true believer can commit these sins but will not live in them. 5:22-26 – Fruit of the Spirit - The fruit of the Spirit is God’s work in a believer’s life. These fruits are outward toward others. 6:1-10 – Ways the Fruits Are Revealed in Life - Restoring - Bearing - Doing Good to Others Apply: What must a branch do to produce fruit? (not a trick question) What are ways that you can abide or stay connected to the vine (root), Jesus Christ? What are some ways that would disconnect you from your vine? (Hint: Gal. 5:26-6:4) Pick one of the fruits of the Spirit: What are some ways that God has worked in your life to produce this fruit? What are ways that this fruit comes out of your life and practically affects others? According to Galatians 6:3-4, what mentality will hinder us from bearing one another’s burdens? This week, how will you live Galatians 6:10 outwards, as God’s Spirit inwardly works to produce fruit? (give a specific thought or plan)

Scripture References: Galatians 5:13-26, Galatians 6:1-10
