1 Samuel 7 - The Gospel According to Samuel - Wednesday Evening Prayer Meeting

A Study of Samuel

1 Samuel 4-6 taught us that God will not be manipulated by man-made religion. He responds to relationship and nothing else. God will not be manipulated or used for our glory; we are created for His. The Israelites learned this along with the Philistines as the ark of the covenant seemed to bring with it cursing rather than blessing. It was not the ark that caused problems though, it was human attempt to control God. 1 Samuel 7 gives us a turning point.

Scripture References: 1 Samuel 8:1-22, 1 Samuel 7:1-17
