Digging Deep. Ending Empty. – Ecclesiastes 7 - Midweek Bible Study
Sun Tzu, Confucius, Buddha, Aristotle, Locke, Rousseau, Voltaire, Kant and many others have mined the depths of human reason for answers. Through the ages, mankind’s “top men” have spent their lives searching for the meaning of life. In previous chapters the preacher offered ideals for wise living while confronting the hard realities of life under the sun. Now he digs deeper. Accepting the limits imposed by injustice, time, and death, he wrestles to find a purpose beyond pleasure, wealth, or companionship. His search leads him to the noble pursuits of legacy, righteousness, and a life wisely lived. In the end, he concludes the noble enlightened path also leaves us empty and searching.

We want to examine and consider life under the sun and realize that must point to someone beyond it: Jesus Christ.
