Lesson 8 – Why Are We Praying? - Ephesians 1:12-23; 3:14-21 - Midweek Prayer Meeting

Have you been praying any differently since we started this study? A pointed question to be sure, but it is a necessary one. What good does it do any of us to stare into the the mirror of God's Word and then walk away without concern. The Bible makes it clear that prayer is a spiritual practice, and much of it should be spiritually focused. These two prayers modeled for us in Ephesians have shown our need to pray for focus, understanding, and revelation. As we pray for these, we are praying that God would clearly put into our hearts His hope, His riches, His power, and His love. How is all of this supposed to happen? Often, these things sound very different from our personal experience. Is this just for certain, special people?
