Sound Only - Judges 13 - Samson - The Shadow of a Coming Savior - Wednesday Prayer Meeting

he account of Samson in Scripture has drawn the attention of people throughout the world for centuries. Examples: Why do you think that is? What about Samson do you think draws people's interest? What part of Samson do you think people want or wish they could experience? The book of Judges relays the circumstances of Israel and each judge in a unique way. The details seem to come in waves. We are aware of some things in great detail while others are given to us in a passing phrase. Samson might be the most unique of the judges in details of his background. We are not told of his calling by God or any relationship with God. In fact, his judging over Israel sort of bursts onto us even realizing what is happening. However, unlike the other judges, the Bible gives us an entire chapter about the birth of Samson, and it is just as unique as his story.

Scripture References: Judges 12:8-15, Judges 10:10, Judges 13:1-25, Judges 6:7, Judges 4:3, Judges 3:15, Judges 3:9, Numbers 6:1-21, Judges 10:1-18
