Now and Then – Ecclesiastes 11:1-12:8 - Midweek Prayer Meeting
In chapter 11, Solomon continues his final “tour of wisdom” in which he seems to be giving proverbial lessons in rapid fire form. While the general subject matter appears to be random, the lessons in 11:1-12:8 have a consistent theme: “Live now thinking about then.” He gives several principles for living life under the sun but each of them carry the idea of living in the present while thinking with proper perspective about the future. The preacher has reminded us many times that life under the sun comes to an end and that wise people don’t ignore this fact.

We want to examine and consider life under the sun and realize that must point to someone beyond it: Jesus Christ.
